For many, Canva was a renaissance of sorts. It leveled the playing field for many who felt Photoshop and other software tools were too complicated and expensive.
As word of mouth grew on this powerful, inexpensive tool, it made EVERYBODY a "Graphic Designer". However, you still need to understand the art of design and know how to capture attention and stop the scroll.
Be sure to educate yourself on the use of Canva and other graphic design tools if you plan on "Doing it Yourself". Remember, less is more, and the message is more important than the look, but nailing both is a winning combination.
3. AI Slop
Much like Canva, everyone and their mother has discovered ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and other AI tools to "assist" in content creation. From writing emails, contracts, processes, and even images, AI is only as good as the prompts you feed it.
Try to avoid the generic prompt that every entry-level user asks. Speak to AI much like another person, and you will be surprised by your results. Remember, AI is machine learning, so to separate from the AI Slop, put some real effort into your use of AI when it comes to your clients. People are already feeling AI fatigue, and the human element is what makes the difference!
