"I'll think about it..."
Famous last words in a sales call that we never want to hear. Why? Because it means only 2 things... either A) They don't want to tell you no and are letting you down easy, or B) You didn't ask or answer the right questions to satisfy their FUD.
What is FUD you ask? it is... FEAR, UNCERTAINTY & DOUBT
Business owners know they need social media. They know the alternative of doing nothing is only going to allow the competition to pull away and take the market, but how do you find the answers to make that business take the next step?
What I have found in the 15+ years I have been in sales is, when you get to the "I'll think about it" stage... that is the time to say, I can sense your hesitation, but is there anything I have missed? Or is there something else that is preventing you from moving forward, because we both agree you need to market your business, but what is in the way of getting started?
9 times out of 10, they are unsure because this is new to them. They understand the concepts of marketing, but it's hard right now as businesses want to grow, but are they fully staffed? Can they take on the extra business? Are they comfortable letting you market their brand? Just keep asking open-ended questions and you will find your answer.
Maneuvering in today's COVID environment has taught me 2 things... Businesses are more conservative for fear of another downturn in the economy, but now more than ever, business owners are more curious about video marketing i.e. facebook, instagram and the fast-growing tiktok platform.
I think we are living in exciting times as business owners have so many platforms to reach their audience. If you are still "thinking about it," it's time to Jump in! The water is warm!
